Streaming is Not an Option

After yesterday's long day, today was most definitely a rest day. So much so in fact that I could have summed up the day with a single line along the lines of "I spent most of today in bed". I had a couple of films to watch thanks to the BBC's film weekend last week and a few previously downloaded iPlayer programmes. It didn't take that long for me to run out of things to watch though and despite finding a couple more things on the iPlayer, the internet speed in this house is so unreliable that streaming programmes simply isn't an option.

I have always preferred to download programmes rather than stream them and am amazed at how many more people opt to stream over downloading. They clearly have a much more reliable internet connection than I have because I very rarely get the chance to stream an entire programme without some sort of buffering issues. Here however, the problem is even more noticeable and when you can't even get through the BBC ident without it stopping several times to buffer, you know you have a problem. I am going to have to invest in a new recorder if I want to watch these programmes outside of their scheduled times.
