More Training

Wednesday afternoons are now going to be a regular spot for TSC training and this week we are learning all about sound. We learned how to set up the DJ's equipment, about the different types of speakers - active and passive - some more about cables as well as learning how to use the amp system, how to eq (setting the equaliser) and that Sam's Town by the Killers is one of the worst produced records of all time.

Okay that last sentence is probably a little bit subjective but never mind. Afterwards, we all went for a little drink in the Interval. Drinking and the Interval seems to feature very heavily in the TSC way of life and whilst the first bit isn't something I normally go for, they do a wonderful hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows so there will be no complaints from my end (until it warms up a bit perhaps).

I caught the first episode of Five Days this evening, part of a five episode series showing each day this week. I vaguely remember the last series being quite good so I thought I should at least give this a chance. It is a bit annoying when they decide to schedule these things over a week because if you are having a busy week (as I am) then you end up having to cram them all in to a very short space of time. From watching the first two episodes, it looks like a very compelling story line with lots of twists and merging of character paths, something I always admire of a writer when they can pull all of the different mini storylines together.
