Cake!

At the beginning of the semester, I wrote about how the Intelligent Web module sounded very interesting and how the lecturer was quite funny. Today however I am using the reserved judgement that I put in place at the end of that post and would like to change my mind. Other than a few (frankly useless) statistics, I have learned very little that I didn't already know. A lot of the content is identical to that of the BBC's virtual revolution programme and I'm sure a lot of it even a non computing person would know. Facebook is popular MySpace isn't so much anymore and Twitter's popularity is on the rise. There are lots of blogs out there etc and each week I wonder why I attended.

The assignment is a little more taxing and we seem to have very little instruction on it. Supposedly it is fairly easy so that we can get used to our teams for the larger and more weighty seconds assignment but so far a lot of us are struggling to work out what to do. I was supposed to be working on it today but my partner didn't turn up so I now have to wait for the lab session tomorrow.

Given the spare time I now had, I set out to make a really nice chocolate cake for my housemate's birthday. I can quite happily knock up a white Victoria sponge but adapting it for chocolate usually doesn't go so well. This time however, with the help of my new favourite ingredient condensed milk it turned out to be pretty damn good even if I do say so myself.
