New Years Eve

An exciting day for me today because it is one of the first new years eve's that I have actually quite enjoyed. Most of the time I get dragged to adult parties with my parents and some kids that all end up being my brothers age. Tonight however, with friends and friends of friends I have been watching the TV, looking out of the window and having a generally good time. It took a long time to work out how to get the movies from my laptop onto the TV mind, I was supposed to bring my DVD player (it plays from USB drives) but typically, I forgot - along with the power cable for my laptop.

In fact I must have had a massive memory lapse to forget both of those vitally important things, I even remember standing round convinced that I was missing something and giving up after half an hour none the wiser. It was only when I was half way up the A38 that I remembered the power cable and I didn't remember the DVD player until I was in the house in Sheffield! Thankfully the rest of the day went a bit better and after a mini fish and chips for lunch, I sat down to watch some crap TV. Catchphrase and QI repeats kept me occupied until it was time to go to my friends house for the evening.

When I got there, two of them were in the kitchen making food for the evening - and there was a lot! All sorts of party food, sandwiches, goujons, pizza, sausage rolls etc and we barely got through half of it by the end of the evening. Sadly my friend was really ill and so ended up missing most of the night - of all the times to get it! I actually thought the fireworks in London were pretty good this year, especially seeing as they had a more limited budget than most years. After the new year dawned, we sat and watched some of Jool's hootenanny for a bit and then finished the evening watching the countdown of the 100 most annoying celebrities. Unsurprisingly, Jordan was number one and at the end of it, I went back home.
