The End Is Nigh

Can you believe it, it's nearly all over. My time in full-time education is drawing to a close. I have been at this now for 17 years (since I was 4!) and I almost don't know a life without it. Lectures have finished now and my final three exams will all be over in a matter of weeks. I cannot wait to be done with them and am immensely looking forward to June 10th at 11:00 when they are all officially over. With a bit of luck the revision that I've managed to cram in between the large amount of procrastination will be enough to get me a good mark.

I've had marks from my two 100% coursework modules and they are very promising. If I've done well in the other bits of coursework and can get a semi-decent mark in the exams I may just be able to scrape a first. I hate thinking about it because the more I think about the possibility, the more disappointed I would be if I were only a few percent off.

I'm fairly confident about the first exam - although if I were to sit it tomorrow I would barely scrape a pass! The other two do not fill me with such confidence though. My final exam is looming in the back of my head and torturing me daily. Even some of the very basic maths seems to be escaping me and just when I think I've got my head around part of it, the rest of the section seems like it is a million miles out of reach. Hopefully I will be able to remember enough to muddle my way through it but with the previous exam a couple of days beforehand, I have to make sure I don't fall into the trap of concentrating on that too much and ignoring the one I am least prepared for.

The downside to June 10th is bizarrely also the upside - the end. It really will all be over and I will have until July 4th in Sheffield and then I'm going to be homeless. At some point I have to start looking at accommodation in Manchester where I will be based when I start work in September and this prospect is really quite daunting. A new city, new friends, a whole new life. I will try and make it back to Sheffield occasionally but it all depends on how quickly I settle in. Before all of that, I have grad week - which I hope to spend in Sheffield in a cheap hostel / some kind persons floor, and I have a mini website project to tide me over for the summer which should hopefully keep the boredom at bay for most of it.

Finally, I shall end this post - as I have with the rest of the sporadic posts that have been up here recently - with some music. Cocknbullkid has now released her debut album Adulthood. It has some brilliant tunes on it and is well worth checking out. This track is one of my favourite's along with Asthma Attack (which I am assuming will be the next single)

Another tune I fell in love with was Skream's remix of Cassius - I love you so which has so many levels to it that it should cater to those who are usually into this sort of genre.
