It's another travel day and I'm back off to Sheffield again. This time I am moving in for good (although I'm coming back to Birmingham next weekend because due to a lapse in judgement, I decided to book the coach from Birmingham rather than Sheffield). This morning's packing has been greatly helped by yesterday's boredom which meant I had a significant head start. As I am almost guaranteed to have forgotten something, I think I did quite well this time as so far I only appear to have forgotten my toothpaste (something easily rectified by the multitude of toothpaste dispensing outlets nearby).
The biggest pain when moving somewhere new, is finding 'a home' for everything (as I'm sure I've mentioned before). The biggest problem I have found in this room is the positioning of the plug sockets of which I need them all to cope with the mass of electronic equipment I own. The current arrangement demands that I have wires trailing all over the floor - which is bound to end in tears at some point and I can either re-arrange my room or buy a couple more extension leads. I may prefer the latter although I have been known to do the former with great pleasure.
The journey up was pretty terrible on the whole. It was about rush hour time when I set off and so the traffic at certain points was horrendous. It also didn't help that the M18 was closed at junctions 1 and 2 due to an accident but oddly enough, the problems weren't by the entrance to the M18 and instead, they appeared to be way before that where the signs first started warning people of the closure. Perhaps they were panicking trying to work out a way around the problem?
