We have been very lucky with the weather today and apart from a few spots of rain this morning, which rather cut short our trip into the village, we have had mostly sunny skies. We managed a nice walk down to the beach this afternoon to make the most of the good weather and lay on the sand for a bit to soak up the rays. I have since discovered that my watch doesn't like the sand as I struggled to get it off this evening. I hope a good wash will get rid of all the bits that have clogged up the release mechanism but that is the downside to the beach I suppose. I wasn't brave enough to take a dip into the sea, even with the warm weather, but there were plenty of people who were paddling around.
The pace of life around here is much slower than back home which I suppose is why it is primarily a holiday destination but meal times always seem to come around very quickly. Normally I am quite happy to wake up at about 10am and have breakfast sometime around 11am but I will then perhaps only have lunch at 2pm or 3pm. Here however, lunch is at about one giving me only two hours to process breakfast. I managed to push dinner back until 6pm today but I felt so full after dinner and am only now just beginning to feel somewhat peckish again. My body cannot cope with large quantities of food in one go. I often hear the phrase 'I won't need to eat for a week after that' and whilst clearly they are exaggerating, my parents can quite happily eat just two meals a day whereas even if I've eaten an enormous meal, I will be peckish again in a few hours time.
Whilst we were on the beach, my mum tried out some more features on her new camera. She is particularly fond of the sweep panorama mode on the camera and seems to insist that every picture she takes is panoramic. To give credit to Sony, they have made it very easy to use (other than changing the direction of the sweep) and the processing / stitching takes mere milliseconds. The pictures from the camera are superb quality and makes my camera feel rather inferior. This one is of Tenby / Penally beach taken today and is particularly nice and fills a nice picture sized hole in this post. I have started to try to include more photos in the blog to liven things up a little bit and will no doubt be reducing the frequency of my posts when I start back at university in September. As for now however, I spent a lot of this evening playing Mahjong and at one point, even plunged to the depths of Solitaire which just goes to show my boredom.
