Today I have been putting some final tweaks to the website I am revamping for my parents. The only bit I now have left to do is the photo gallery converting it from the hideous flash incarnation that is currently in place to a javascript version that is more accessible.
The biggest challenge of today has been trying to implement the JQuery-UI datepicker widget for use in a booking form. I had assumed that it would be fairly simple as was the whole point with JQuery however, I found myself confused when the documentation and APIs referred to vastly different methods to those used in the examples. It works at the moment although I have an encoding problem that shows up funny symbols instead of the character. I have a feeling that this is because I used windows compressed folders to extract the code from the zip file. I will try it again with trusty 7-Zip tomorrow and see if that makes any difference. Changing the encoding with Notepad++ doesn't seem to make a difference and I am too tired to think of a solution now.
My brain has been drained by trying to fill in IBM's CV template. After spending many hours polishing my own CV, they tell me that I must use their template! I suppose it makes me feel slightly better that I am definitely including what they want in it though. I will put the finishing touches to it tomorrow and then start on the application form. <sarcasm>Tomorrow will be a fun day.</sarcasm>
