Another Gazebo

I am slightly regretting working last night now because I had a very early start this morning (comparatively) and am only still going because I had a nap this afternoon. The early morning start was courtesy of the Computer Science Society and a Skype meeting that was moved forward - at my request - to 10:30 as I was starting work at 12:00.

At that time I didn't know that I'd be working Friday night but still, duties are duties and I think we have got a lot of things sorted that needed to be sorted, mainly with regards to getting the new freshers to sign up so that we have a decent member set and some money with which to organise new events.

Next up was gazebo building time. It was actually pretty good fun last time even if it was raining and this time was no exception. I almost didn't bring my raincoat because the weather looked pretty good this morning but having seen how quickly it can turn the last couple of days, I wasn't willing to take a chance. We almost managed to avoid the rain but got in a bit of a muddle with the poles and when we came to put the roof on, it didn't fit because we had the poles the wrong was around. We paid the price for this mistake as it started to rain just after we had taken it all down again but we got it up again quickly enough so that we weren't too soaked and could take refuge from the elements underneath it.

By the time we had finished, the sun was shining again (thankfully) because there was a barbecue being held in the gardens and rain and barbecues don't go very well together. I would have loved to stay around for it but I was so tired and hungry, I just wanted my nice cosy bed.
