Home Time

Today is the last day I will see the inside of this house. It has been fairly good to us without too many problems and overall I think we preferred it to the previous house we had. The kitchen was smaller but the hobs were gas not electric, I was stuck in the attic and in a much smaller room but all of the nooks and crannies meant that I still had plenty of storage space for all of my junk.

As far as the weather is concerned, whilst I am grateful for clear skies, I am less grateful for the giant ball of super heated gas that is making everything rather warm. So much so in fact, that what should have been a couple of hours loading the car took significantly longer and very much delayed my return. I even had to resort to using my car's air conditioning - which if you consider that in nearly four years that I have owned this car I have used precisely never - is a pretty big deal.

Still I would much rather use a tiny bit more fuel that be stuck nose to tail in traffic or be driving in the torrential rain. I even made pretty good time once I had actually left the house which was hampered by my total lack of organisation. I kept spotting things that needed doing and I have still forgotten a few things stuck to the wall despite looking round the room several times - convinced I had everything. The will it fit game resulted in a very tight almost with a herbs and spices rack being the only loser although my bed set came in very close to the mark and very nearly wasn't even noticed. I now know that this should have been the first thing to pack as the majority of it is air which is nicely expelled by large heavy object. There were plenty of times when I regretted not taking more stuff to my friend's house and now that I am home there are plenty of things I wish I had not left with her as well.
