Let's Go Disco

I had to force myself out of bed this morning as I had promised to help my friend with her Actionscript scripting project. I had agreed to do so on the promise of being fed and I was expecting a roast dinner. Sadly, this did not happen and I left having helped rather a lot and with a very empty stomach. Turns out that because the date had to be changed, food was no longer part of the deal - the first I'd heard of it!

I then had to go home and quickly gobble up some food before heading out to work again. No idea what possessed me to work two events in a row but I did and here I am. Tonight's event was a bit different to the normal disco events I work because there were a couple of live bands on. Also fairly amazingly, I had heard of one of them, New Young Pony Club. The support act was the winner of the band competition held earlier on in the year. Pretty much everything went fairly well other than some dodgy cabling on my part trying to run a huge length of cable to the lighting desk at front of house from it usual position on the stage. The main problem came when one of the guitar cases got mislaid. It later transpired that it had been stolen earlier when security kicked someone out whilst they were still holding the case. Thankfully it was only the case that was taken and not the actual guitar.

The end of the event wasn't so great however as I ended up in the Octagon helping the understaffed space crew put everything away. It was a bit of a later night then I had expected but I might be starting to like the Octagon in a perverse sort of way.
