I decided to get up early today to make sure I didn't get held up in the dissertation hand in queue. As I got to the lab however, there was only one or two other people there. With that done, I met my partner for the next assignment and attempted to make a start on the Intelligent Web assignment due in a week and a half.
That didn't last long, he had been up most of the night working on his dissertation and I wasn't exactly in the best of moods for concentrating. I was in two minds as to whether or not to just hang around until TSC training this afternoon but I decided it was better to go home for a bit.
When I did get back, I was the first person there. It always worries me when this happens because most of the time I have got the wrong time or place and so I spend the next few minutes double checking everything and panicking wondering why no one else is here. Thankfully, the trainers turned up a couple of minutes later with another junior but that was pretty much it. About ten minutes later, one more turned up but that was the peak. A very disappointing turn out really but it meant those who did bother to attend got all the time to learn stuff. We didn't get round to stacking the PA system because there simply weren't enough of us to do the heavy lifting but we were talked through everything. We had a go at building the stage - several times and that pretty much concluded the session. I ended up getting roped into staying for a bit longer to help build the stage for tomorrows gig - 65 Days of Static (I've never heard of them but they must be fairly big to warrant using the Octagon and the massive amount of preparation that has gone into it.
To celebrate the end of the dissertation, we went to Roar this evening. It wasn't the best night out in the world because we were mainly based in the main room. I would much rather have been in the smaller room where they play song from the 90's and early noughties rather than all this urban and r'n'b rubbish. I did pop in a couple of times and ended up staying for a couple of songs because they were too catchy to leave but being on your own in a club isn't really any fun.
