Two at a Time

Two testees today so I had to haul two laptops and two mice down the the Information Commons (the library). There wasn't room in the bag for two power bricks as well and as luck would have it, one of the laptops ran out of batteries towards the end of the session.

Once again, it was more like a two hour session than a twenty minute session but they didn't seem to mind and were very happy to receive a chocolate bar for their efforts. They did very well with finding bugs in the code, including one fairly serious one and all in all they seemed to think my efforts were worth it - which is always nice to know. My final volunteer is tomorrow and comes on a recommendation from yesterdays tester which is amazing. I thought an extra two hours of what was essentially Matlab tuition would be enough to put anyone off so perhaps I'm doing something right.

A Bang Goes the Theory special tonight about their brain training experiment. I was a little disappointed to find out that what I had been doing was totally pointless but it does make me feel a whole lot better about abandoning it. It may not make you any cleverer but as a warm up exercise for the brain to get you thinking, I still think there is some merit in it - even if the effects are only psychological.
