A Proper Sunday Roast

You often don't realise how much you miss something until you are treated to it once again. Today I had the first Roast dinner for months, in fact I've only had one roast dinner in Sheffield this academic year which is frankly wholly unacceptable! The problem is getting hold of decent quality meat without leaving a gaping great hole in my wallet which is something that seems to be getting more and more difficult to achieve. Anyway, a special Mother's Day celebration called for roast beef with all the trimmings and a special chocolate pot dessert - recipe courtesy of Mr Ramsey and it was pretty damn good although our pots were significantly larger than the ones suggested in the recipe and so I had to admit defeat half way through mine.

Other than that today was fairly dull. I managed to get back to Sheffield without any major hitches other than an eerie silence in the car which will soon be rectified now that I have found the radio code. I can understand the logic behind it but do people still steal radios? Surely they would rather have the SatNav - although thinking about it, mine has a code on it so the theory is the same.

Single of the week time again and this week's singles comes courtesy of Delphic and their latest release - Halcyon which apparently means "idyllically calm and peaceful; suggesting happy tranquillity" according to the Google definition and I'm still not sure I'm any the wiser. Either way, it's a pretty decent song - not the best song on the album which as far as I'm concerned is the earlier single Doubt but a good song nevertheless and it was officially released as a single today although the album has been available for a while now. What's even better is that amazingly, we have an official video that hasn't had embedding disabled so perhaps some areas of the music industry are embracing modern technology at last!
