Getting Things Organised

Today has been an organisational day, tidying up and getting things ready for starting back tomorrow. I have emailed my dissertation tutor to arrange our first meeting of the year - and the first one-to-one meeting with my new tutor as well. I am hoping that he won't be asking too many questions about my plans for the year because as yet I don't actually have any. Maybe I should start working on that before the meeting...

A couple of years ago I was very wary of buying things from eBay. I was far too suspicious of anyone and assumed that 90% of the people on there were doing so simply to rip you off. Over the years though, I have come to love it and since they have put so many procedures in place to combat exactly those fears, I have used it many times - most of them without a hitch. Last week however, as I have mentioned, I ordered some white board pens. I received a note through the door on Friday to say that I had received a parcel but that there was a fee to pay. I was sure it must be the eBay package but wasn't going to jump to any conclusions before I had made sure of it. Sure enough, when I went to collect it at silly o'clock on Saturday morning it was and I then found out that the seller had not put any postage on the packet at all. Assuming that isn't the replacement package that was sent after I complained that the first one hadn't arrived, then I suppose it would make sense that it arrived later than expected if there were no stamps on it. I have since emailed the seller with the hope that this can all be resolved peacefully (i.e. not having to get PayPal and eBay involved in the dispute) but it seems very odd to forget something that vital.

In other news, I actually fell asleep listening to the radio this afternoon, something that I cannot remember ever having done before. It's not even as though I've got a good excuse either, I've had naps for the past three days because I've been waking up pre 9am for exams and the Post Office and still going to bed at around 1am. Today however, I didn't get up until gone 11 so I'd only been up about six hours. I just hope it will wear off otherwise I will be asleep in most of my afternoon lectures!
