You can tell it's coming to the end of the year when suddenly the house becomes very quiet. The rest of the year is relatively carefree but as the term draws to a close, so do the deadlines and so most of the time people are busy working away in there room. Well you know what they say, when the cat's away the mice will play. And so I have been. I'm quite a way ahead with my assignments compared to my peers and so all the hard work that I've ended up doing in the past couple of weeks has paid off and now instead of being in a mad panic about how much work I have to do, I am reasonably relaxed and fairly confident that I can get it all done in time. That said, I'm still very much looking forward to Monday when I will be done for the year - save for one last assignment due in late January and my exams.
A lot of feedback to today's Waterloo road in the twittersphere and this week saw them introduce mental health issues into the equation. It's almost like the school is trying to collect the most diverse group of students it possibly can and still cope. On the plus side, since Kim mistook the Schizophrenia for bullying and was subsequently praised by Max, she has started to doubt him and now that Rachel has told her about Max being married, she has split up with him. Now you'd have thought that meant that Rachel could sleep easy again having Kim back on her side but now Max has turned on her even more and he came to visit her at home. To me it looked like he had been drinking and I'm surprised given the past storylines that he didn't beat or threaten her more than he did. Miss 'hopeless' was as hopeless as ever and even went so far as writing whore on Kim's door after finding out about her and Max, not thinking to spell it wrong so that one of the kids was suspected. After the house party that night, I cannot see how she can survive in that school much longer without having a mental breakdown through stress.
NMTB was actaully surprisingly good this week, I'm not a big fan of Frankie Boyle but he managed to get through it quite well. I do think he stepped over the line a little - in fact quite a lot - with a couple of the jokes but he seemed to get away with it. I would have loved to see an unedited version of that episode though. The star of the show was Noel's cape though, a marvellous performance which outshone Carol and Ironik. Although I was impressed that Carol managed to guess an intro and pick the correct line up girl. Can't wait for next week, Dr Who special (plus Jamie Cullum and Jo Whiley). I can see that Jo fits because she narrated Dr Who Confidential but not sure about Jamie, guess I'll find out next week.
