Baking Day

I was dragged around Tamworth this morning something which I wasn't particularly looking forward too. In a bizarre twist of fate however, it didn't turn out to be too bad and we stopped off at the supermarket and picked up the ingredients for the afternoons baking. I also managed to get some heavily discounted petrol and fill the car up before I go back to Sheffield, not only did I have a 5p per litre off voucher but the price was already much lower than the local few stations which were about 4p or 5p more expensive anyway!

I had reached a point of complete and utter boredom yesterday and decided to have a look on stumble upon. I've never used this before but really like the concept of it. To this end, I was immediately disappointed. I guess I was now so bored that I was hoping for this to be some sort of miracle cure, ready to keep every waking moment of my future life filled with wonderful things to keep me occupied. This was not the case however I did find a flickr picture of a cookie monster cake that someone had been given as a present. It was basically a muffin decorated to look like the cookie monster from the muppets. Well that was it, I was determined to make it (or something closely resembling it).

And this is the result:

The original is slightly better and I had to improvise the eyes as I'd forgotten to buy white chocolate buttons (used in the original) but managed to find some liquorice allsorts that did a good enough job (in my opinion)
