It is sad that the last few posts have all contained the word 'end'. My time at University is drawing ever closer but I'm holding out until I have officially graduated and then holding on some more before I leave Sheffield for good. Today was the last day in my house and I am no longer a Sheffield resident.
I don't have such fond memories of this place as I have had for the other accommodation we have stayed in over the years. I'm not entirely sure why - possibly because I've not spent much time here other than sleeping, or it might just be because there have been fewer memorable moments this year.
Either way, it will be sad to see everyone leave. I will hopefully bump into them one more time during graduation week but after that, it will be months before I see any of them again.
The communications age that we now live in makes it much easier to stay in touch with everyone so with a bit of luck we can organise a couple of get together each year - dependent on jobs and whether or not we are able to get the time off. I'm quite lucky that my job is based fairly close and so visiting shouldn't be a major problem although I will try not to make it too frequent, I need to make sure that I move on and start a new life in Manchester.
My song for this post will be from Elbow's latest album, Build A Rocket Boys! Since hearing this performed at Glastonbury, I have fallen in love with it and listening to it captures all of the emotions that I feel about leaving Sheffield.
Fairwell Sheffield, it has been a happy and joyful four years, full of new experiences and friends.
