A Spot of Scrabble?

In a nostalgic trip back to the olden days, and to help combat my mother's addiction with a Facebook hosted rip off of Scrabble, we decided to dig out the board game from the depths of my wardrobe and have a couple of games. I was beaten by almost two hundred points in the first game thanks to a lucky set of tiles that allowed the word 'jewelled' over two triple word squares. I pulled it back in the second game however with a distinctly less impressive three point lead scraped during the final few tiles.

It is only when you play games like this that you suddenly start doubting everything you thought you knew about words and spelling. You start making up works, forgetting really simple ones and generally failing to come up with something more inspiring than 'this' or 'and'.

I got a bit further with my parent's website and need to go hunting around the net for some more images to match the new blurb that has been written. After looking at what my step dad wrote all those years ago, we can scarcely believe it made it online. It really is quite badly written and almost wholly inaccurate now that so many things have changed. Still, once he is back in the UK next week, he can put the final stamp of approval on it and the old one can be removed from sight.
