Today is the big day, the results are released. The good news is that I passed with a 2:1 so I am able to continue with my masters course for another year. I got a first for my dissertation which makes me very happy indeed. I was only a couple of percent of an overall first which has given me a bit of motivation to put a bit more effort in next year in the hope that I can reclaim that few percent and jump to the next grade boundary.
I would be gutted if at the end of next year I found out that I had missed the target by a couple of percent but at the moment, I can very much see that happening. To make things worse, it looks like I made a massive error when I chose my modules in a rush earlier in the year. I was declined one of my requests which seemed a little unusual and you would have thought that they might have emailed me to let me know about this! Either way it looks like I will be changing a large quantity of the modules I proposed to take and with a bit of luck I can get that sorted well in advance of intro week. Provided of course that the DCS reception is open over the summer holidays.
Even more good news came when I finished my JavaScript program ahich now works exactly as I intended it too. I did have in mind a button that would copy some text to the clipboard but apparently that is out of the scope of JavaScript for security reasons - as is writing to a file. A shame but I'm sure my mum can cope with that. It's still a heck of a lot easier than asking her to edit the HTML herself or trying to teach her how to use Dreamweaver (both tried and failed methods).
