I managed to get up early enough this morning to run the spider on the site without any disturbances, it was running a bit slow still but I managed to get the whole thing done before having to leave for a lecture. It was the lecture for the same module as the assignment coincidentally and the lecturer informed us that we had 'baffled' the support guys and that he had never had any problems with this assignment before. He also gave us an extension although since I've managed to get the spider to run, we didn't need it and we got the assignment submitted this afternoon, a day early! (Something practically unheard of in our department).
After the lecture (and before the lab) I decided to go for a wander around in town. Partly for a trip to poundland for my mum and partly because my partner was going to be late. On the way back to the lab and on my way to finding some lunch, I was stopped by a marketing person and invited to do a survey on fish fingers. With the prospect of free food, how could I resist. It turned me into a food critic for about half an hour but I got to eat three fish fingers and they even gave me a Mars bar at the end as a thank you. Having not entirely satisfied my hunger (could have done with a couple of slices of buttered white bread, but that would have ruined the test somewhat) I headed for McDonalds. This week has been particularly bad in the food department, once again I find myself eating pork at least once - if not twice a day so the prospect of beef was too tempting to resist.
During this evenings web browsing I came across a sneak preview of the new series of Dr Who and I simply cannot wait to see what it will be like. I was a little disappointed with the TV Trailer which seemed a little bit on the kiddie side but my judgement is reserved until I see the first episode, which has today been screened in Wales.
