Sleeeep

Yesterday has officially worn me out. My batteries are empty and 6 hours isn't nearly enough time to recharge them. For some reason whenever I come back from a night out, I manage to get to sleep very easily but always wake up at about 8am. Any sensible brain would know that late nights are the perfect excuse for a lie-in, especially when my sole Tuesday lecture isn't until 1pm. So I've spent most of today sleepwalking through the day, trying to get by as best I can.

Last night was possibly one of the best nights out I've had since arriving at university which is no mean feat. Apparently the CSS tradition - at least with some of the members - is to start the night with karaoke, something I was more than happy to join in with; first with a group howl to the Backstreet Boys and then a duet to Tony Christie.

If only the rest of today could have gone so well. I wasted an hour in the lab with a corrupt profile which prevented me from getting any decent amount of work done because each command took about five minutes to process. Even switching between programs, i.e. the instruction sheet and Matlab took a good few minutes so I got very little done. I now have to venture into the computer centre to get it resolved but that can wait until I am in again on Thursday now.

Whilst I was down at the union, I found the careers service building for the first time and signed up for three skills for success lectures / sessions. As is I didn't have enough on my plate already, but at least with those booked, I will soon have a third section of my graduate award done and dusted with just the final section to go which hopefully can be finished if I get a position with the open day assistants.

It is of course pancake day today so at least that sorted out the usual "what shall I have for tea" dilemma; and thanks to the kind people at the Interval bar I even had inspiration for what to put in it. Chicken + veg in a cheese and herb sauce, probably the best savoury pancake I have ever made! It was however, very filling so I couldn't manage dessert but that just means that I get to have pancakes tomorrow as well.

I have had to delay this week's single of the week because the song I had in mind may contravene my self imposed rules. There is a chance that it is available through iTunes but I outright refuse to install that on my computer so until I can clarify the position, you will all have to wait! I hope to have it sorted by tomorrow and if not, I might just choose a different song.
