And... Relax

It is such a relief after yesterday's mayhem that this whole accommodation thing is done and dusted. We looked around two properties this morning and thankfully after the viewings we all unanimously agreed on which one was the best and went and signed for it there and then.

The viewings were a shambles mind, the guy who was supposed to be taking us round was all over the place. First of all he didn't turn up when he was supposed to and after ringing the office it turned out he was with another group showing them round and that he would come and find us. A few minutes later he turned up with another group and once he had introduced us to the current occupants of the house, he excused himself to go and show some more people round a different property. It turned out not to be such a bad thing in the end and because we were left alone, we could wonder round at our own pace and ask the current people questions without being given the corporate answer from the agent. We met up with him again completely by accident whilst on our way to the second place and he told us that he was just dealing with another group and then he would come and sort us out. About ten minutes later he appeared and tried to show us round. Turns out he hadn't been entrusted with the keys and was relying on being let in by the current occupants who had had a heavy night out last night and were not in the mood to answer the door. After five or so minutes of persistent knocking, he found a number for one of the guys inside and convinced him to let us in.

The place was a complete tip, cans everywhere, rubbish piled up high and takeaway boxes covering more of the floor than carpet. Four of the six tenants were still in bed and we had to rudely interrupt their sleep to poke our heads into all of the rooms. Eventually we left and it turns out that this was the one for us. We managed to see past the filth and went to sign for it there and then.

The rest of the day turned out to be not so exciting, I finished off an assignment and ended up watching the countdown of the fifty best comedy films on E4 whilst devouring half a bag of toffee popcorn.

Merlin was amazing this evening and we can now start to see where the series is headed. A full scale war and perhaps the demise of Camelot and the release of the dragon. I always knew he had some ulterior motive but until now he has seemed fairly tame and willing to assist Merlin in his weekly quests to protect Camelot from whatever ghastly magical foe happens to be invading this week. Now it seems the dragon grows impatient and has taken to shouting at Merlin in his sleep to convince him to set him free. I'm still not sure how he he being held there in the first place. He seems to be a being of great power and yet is held by a chain. How he got there in the first place (without the use of magic) is frankly beyond me and the same with the supposedly impenetrable are of the castle which to me appeared to be no more than a couple of gated zones which could surely have been got to with magic. Once Merlin gives into the temptation of looking into the crystal however, we learn that he does indeed have the ability to wield the crystal's power and he sees the future. Another throwback to the many worlds theory turns up when he tells Gaius about what he saw. Gaius tells Merlin that there is nothing on this earth that can predict the future and that what he saw was only one possible future. A nice little moral to end the show upon, the future is what you make of it.
