Humdrum

About the only major event that happened today was going shopping but I suppose after the last two days that's fine. I think a part of me has gone in to hibernation recently because I just cannot be bothered to do anything any more. I was only motivated to go shopping today because I had a petrol voucher that was due to expire and am currently horrified that the petrol prices have snuck back up to where they were last year.

After making the effort to go out to the slightly further away Tesco it turns out the petrol station is shut so I didn't manage to fill up anyway although I did get another voucher from the shopping so I have another couple of weeks to take advantage of it. Another reason for thinking that a part of me has gone missing is that I hardly spent anything extra on shopping this week. The only indulgences I had was some cherry ice cream and super cheap Jaffa Cakes to keep me going through the torture that is writing my dissertation.

This week's NMTB was quite disappointing really, I have never found David Walliams to be particularly funny because his jokes all come from playing 'the gay card' rather than the observational comedy which is more my preferred type of humour along with the totally bizarre and random. Dermot O'Leary is hosting next week and I don't have especially high hopes for him either but we shall wait and see, he may surprise us.

Final item of the day is Waterloo Road and things are hotting up in the school after Ruby's breakdown and the revelation to Rachel that Max is married and having an affair with Kim. Thankfully she chose the right path at the end and chose not to tell Kim what she knew, that could only have ended badly and would make her look jealous and bitter. It's nice to know that Max's wife thinks that she is doing a good job however and perhaps some of the John Foster's teachers will start to respect Rachel more than they do Max after the way he treated Ruby, leaving her on the floor, locking her away out of sight of the prospective parents. An interesting story line developing between Steph and Jo so who knows what happened during that night out.
