Hallowe'een

Well that has to be one of the most disappointing Hallowe'ens ever. I expected something to happen, anything even but it turns out nothing did. I just sat in the house gradually building up rage which has subsequently been partly expressed today and I expect the rest will soon follow tomorrow. Its a bit frustrating really because I hate seeing myself like this. 99% of the time I'm a happy go lucky sort not really bothered by what goes on around me. If something does annoy me or a do get angry, it doesn't last more than a couple of hours before (most of the time) all is forgiven. However this week has been particularly bad and the consequence of letting one small annoyance build upon another has lead to the state I'm in currently.

Partly due to that and partly due to the football being on TV, I finally got round to starting my literature review and have written about a page so far. I've got no idea whether it's any good or not and it is more likely to be the latter based on previous assignments similar to this. I'm not very good at essay writing and the word 'dissertation' and 'thesis' scare me silly. Until year ten the word 'essay' scared me so, as you can imagine, having to produce a piece of written work close to sixty or so pages is a pretty big deal. Thankfully I get to hand in a draft piece to my tutor before handing it in for real so with a bit of luck she won't just say this is rubbish and will give me some constructive criticism so that I can make it better.

So I spent the evening watching TV, the second part of Merlin was particularly good as usual and I even managed to watch it on the TV which based on the rest of this week is nothing short of a miracle. The rest of the evening was spent watching Deadset, the feature length horror drama by Charlie Brooker. I've only ever seen the ending before and remember not quite understanding what was happening when I saw Big Brother with zombies but the rest of it is very well made. I also really like the idea of zombies that can run because that makes them a hell of a lot scarier. Slow walking zombies are pretty useless really because you can always run away from them but when they can run very fast then you stand a lot smaller chance of surviving. Unless you find a gate, door or other obstruction of course because then you're safe until they break it down. The other neat concept that was introduced was that they don't like water. I'd never thought about that before really but I suppose if they are stupid then they wouldn't be able to swim, you have to learn how to swim but everyone can run.
