When we decided to get up the following morning, his mum had laid on yet another feast for everyone. Toast, bacon, sausages and scrambled eggs - the perfect start to the day and a wonderful hangover easer. The journey back was a little bit better, following a decent set of directions and still managing to take a wrong turn when the SatNav took over. We got home in good time though and after a quick trip to the shops and a nice nap, I still feel shattered and my throat is getting progressively worse so I'm not at all looking forward to a very busy day tomorrow.
It's that time again and this week is a very special one for me. I first heard this song on the E4 show Skins and it was a piece of background music for a particularly emotional scene. Thankfully because the team behind Skins are very proud of the music they use in the show, there is a section of the web page that details the track listing for each episode. As soon as I heard it, it stuck a chord and I simply had to find out what the song was called. It turns out that they had been running a competition for unknown artists to get their songs on the show and this artist had won. I managed to get the song from her MySpace page around February time and it has now been officially released! The one thing MySpace is good for is the music and the fact that it allows anyone to publish their music online is a very good thing indeed and certainly launched the careers of the likes of Lily Allen.
I don't know that much about the artist other than that she is from Sweeden and has a very beautiful voice. Her name is DesireƩ Duvringe, she doesn't have a very big profile on Last.fm so here is her MySpace page as well (where you can listen to a few of her tracks). The song title is Automation and it is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard so listen to it, download it and enjoy it! There is also an acoustic version on her official channel here.
