Apologies in advance if these postings are a bit of a mess this week, it is the start of freshers week as of 23:00 today and apart from tomorrow and Friday (at the moment) every night has an event attached to it. This means that I will be blogging the day after and as such may not be able to recall all of the exciting events that happen.
Today is also the return of one of my favourite BBC dramas, Merlin. Not quite sure why I like it so much really - maybe because I have always been fascinated by magic and the like. At least I will have something to watch on a Saturday night, assuming we ever get an aerial that is otherwise I'll have to wait a whole 10 minutes after it has finished being broadcast to watch it on the iPlayer!
Now onto the main event of the day, Pop Tarts. This is Sheffield's longest running nightclub / union event (apparently) and is themed around music of the past and tonight was a 90's special. It would appear however, that someone forgot to tell the DJ what year the music he was playing was released in. Every other song he would get on the microphone and announce that it was a 90's themed night and then proceed to play a tune from the early noughties. There were a few nineties classics thrown in there and the occasional eighties song too but this new DJ doesn't seem to be as good as the previous resident.
