The Wrong Door

To justify going out this evening, I thought I should spend at least some time on my dissertation today - don't worry, after Wednesday you wont have to read those words on here again, I know I keep blabbering on about it but it has somewhat taken over my life.

To celebrate my increase in age, we are going to the headphones disco at the Octagon. Before that however, the local chippy was also celebrating its anniversary and had everything half price. An offer not to be refused methinks. I invited my friend from home and a couple of her friends to the bar beforehand. Sadly they couldn't make it to the disco but it was nice to see them for a bit. I managed to get guestlist tickets for all but one person which was nice and meant that my friends had more to spend on their drinks. The downside to guestlist tickets is that you have to collect them. This would have been fine if I knew where it was exactly that I was supposed to collect them from - which I didn't. My first thought was the box office - seems to make sense except that the Octagon has it's own box office so no luck there. So I tried the Octagon box office - except that is where you go to BUY tickets and if you HAVE tickets. People on the guestlist get a door all to themselves! By this time I had bumped into the TSC crew working the event and suitably embarrassed myself by going in through the wrong door. I'll certainly never make that mistake again!

The disco itself was a bit disappointing really. Normally I have great fun at these things and consider them to be my favourite nights out. The music they played was a bit rubbish though because the channels were being manned by different DJs to the usual two who normally manage to strike a good balance between genres so that there is something good to listen to all the time. It was still a good night out though so I don't mind too much.
