As a treat for being back home, I have been designated the local taxi service and so for the next few days will be ferrying my mum around at stupidly early hours of the morning. In fairness to her, I did offer to do it (because I'm kind like that) but after this morning, I might be regretting that decision a little bit.
As a treat and as compensation for not having had a roast dinner yesterday, I was treated to a Monday roast with lamb shanks and lots of veggies but no spuds sadly. I also made meringues again with some leftover egg whites but sort of forgot about them and left them in the oven a little bit too long. They turned out to be just fine but had gone slightly off colour with more of a brown tinge than the virgin white that they perhaps should have been. At least they shouldn't start collapsing on themselves like the last lot did after a couple of days.
I managed to get a little bit of work done and should have finished all of the modifications to my first prototype by tomorrow. I even got some of it done during the Gadget Show and I reckon I'm a better doctor than Mr Jon Bentley anyway because I got some of the diagnoses right without having to use any gadgets or gizmos. I'm not sure they can ever be a replacement for a doctor and in some cases I think these self diagnoses sites can encourage hypochondriacs.
Finally this evening we have the beginning of the second half of the first series of FlashForward. We were even treated to a double episode and on top of that, they actually told us something! Unlike lost where people got bored of the series and stopped watching it after the second or third series when it lost its direction, I think the producers of FlashForward know that they have to release some information so that the audience doesn't become disillusioned and give up with the show.
Saying that, I know a couple of people who didn't manage to watch the whole of the first half of the series which is a shame because these last two episodes have been brilliant and without revealing too much about what happened, I hope this is a sign that the rest of the series will be just as good.
